Utah Photo Locations
Click on each location to see more images taken there. Each location may vary in the way it looks depending upon the time of year.
Please Note: As stated in my pricing information “travel fees may apply.” If a photo location has a travel fee it will be noted in the notes at the top of the photo gallery. Most of the images in each location gallery are images taken from afar so that you can see the location. I always photo closeups and 3/4 length images as well, I don’t post those to the location guide because it does not show the surroundings of the actual location.
I'm constantly on the lookout for new photography locations and settings that offer distinctive backgrounds for portraits. During my explorations, I capture these locations on film and share them on YouTube. I find solace in solitude, and my videos aim to inspire tranquility. Some of the locations listed will have direct links to see video(s) of how it looks.

Photo locations play a vital role in photography, offering the canvas upon which the artistry of a photograph comes to life. From natural landscapes to urban cityscapes, these captivating backdrops set the stage for capturing memorable and stunning images. Whether it's for family portraits, wedding photography, or special occasions, choosing the right photo location can elevate the visual impact of a photograph and tell a unique story.
1. Natural Wonders
Nature's wonders provide some of the most breathtaking and versatile photo locations. From sunlit meadows to serene lakeshores, rugged mountain ranges to pristine beaches, the beauty of nature adds depth and richness to photographs. The ever-changing seasons offer a myriad of opportunities to capture the splendor of landscapes in different moods and colors.
2. Urban Landscapes
Urban environments present a dynamic and eclectic range of photo locations. City skylines, bustling streets, and architecturally stunning buildings create a vibrant and energetic backdrop for street photography and urban portraits. The interplay of light and shadows amidst towering skyscrapers or historic landmarks offers endless possibilities for capturing striking images.
3. Historical Sites and Landmarks
Historical sites and landmarks offer a glimpse into the past and add a sense of nostalgia and grandeur to photographs. From historical farms to iconic monuments, these locations provide a rich tapestry of history and culture, making them perfect settings for travel photography and documentary-style shots.
4. Unique Indoor Spaces
Indoor locations can be equally enchanting, providing opportunities for creative compositions and controlled lighting. These spaces offer a distinctive ambiance that can add character and charm to portraits and themed photoshoots.
5. Rural Retreats
Rural settings, such as quaint villages and countryside escapes, offer a sense of tranquility and simplicity that makes for stunning photo locations. Rustic barns, rolling hills, and blooming flower fields create a charming backdrop that complements family portraits and romantic photo sessions.
6. Personal and Sentimental Places
Sometimes, the most meaningful photo locations are those that hold personal significance to the subjects being photographed. Family homes, favorite parks, or cherished vacation spots hold sentimental value and provide a sense of comfort and familiarity that brings authenticity to the images.
7. Considerations for Photo Locations
When choosing a photo location, various factors come into play. Lighting conditions, the time of day, and weather are crucial aspects that can influence the outcome of a photoshoot. Accessibility, privacy, and permits may also be considerations.
