Summer wildflowers grace Albion Basin, with a colorful tapestry that includes lupine, Indian paintbrush, American bistort, sunflowers, and fireweed. The prime weeks for wildflowers in Albion Basin typically span from the final week of July through the second or third week of August. Don't forget to pack insect repellent! The area can have bugs and mosquitoes.
During the wildflower season it is best to schedule a morning portrait session to avoid crowds of people. I avoid taking photos here during the wildflower season in the evening due to the high influx of people, making it too crowded.

Albion Basin has a rich history, including mining activities dating back to the 19th century when silver was extracted from the area. Over the years, Albion Basin has transitioned from mining to conservation and is now a protected area within the Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Its conservation status ensures that the natural beauty and ecological diversity of the region are preserved for future generations to enjoy. The Albion Basin Wildflower Festival, held each summer, is a highlight of the year. During this event, visitors can witness the vibrant wildflowers in their full glory and participate in guided hikes and educational programs to learn more about the unique flora of the region. Albion Basin boasts breathtaking beauty, particularly during late July through August when it bursts into a vibrant display of wildflowers.
