The McPolin Barn was originally built in the 1920s and was part of a larger dairy farm owned by the McPolin family. In the mid-1900s, the farm transitioned hands several times, reflecting the economic shifts in the region as Park City moved from a mining town to a destination for outdoor recreation and tourism. Recognizing its cultural and historical significance, the City of Park City purchased the property in 1990 to preserve it as a historical landmark and protect it from development.
